Speaking of sleeping...

I finally made the bumpers to her crib! Not all by myself, thanks mom! But I'm still proud of the work that I did. I did most of it, just had my mom help on the parts I wasn't confident in. Doesn't it look cute? Next is the dust ruffle.

:) She fell asleep in the car holding onto my diaper bag.
We bought this moses basket for Emery. Right now she is sleeping in the basket, which is placed in her crib because the more snug she is, the better she sleeps. But sometimes she will nap in it in the front room or somewhere else if im at my mom's, I'll take it with me. She always turns her head up to the side and somewhat muzzles it. Also, I took pictures on a day that she kicked her leg up and it went through the handle. I guess she sleeps well with one leg up.

More Utah Pictures

Here are some more awesome pictures from Utah and Idaho that I would like to share with you...yes you!

This is Jonathon and Taylor, Jen's older boys. Jonathon on the left, and Taylor on the right after he was baptized.
Here is of course, me and my hubby. Christa took this picture and I love it. It's my background on my laptop!

Here is Chris and Christa with the most awesome scriptures ever!

Me and Emery looking out over SL valley.

This is funny. I am not used to cold weather so when I packed church dress I didn't even think about stockings or anything. So I decided that I would wear sweats underneath until we got to the church for the baptism. And I put sweats on Em under her dress too because I forgot to pack tights for her. Well, we kind of match. It looks so silly but I like this picture.

The Rest of Utah

Thursday, my father in law Daryl came up and we went again to do some things so that he could experience them too. We went to Welfare Square for a tour. They had delicious things to sample at the end: cheese, bread, honey, pb, jam, and the chocolate milk was heavenly... Then we went to the Humanitarian center to do some service before our tour. It was fun to do service. We split up into two groups because our group was so large. The group i worked with stuffed hygiene kits. The other group stuffed school kits. Here we are getting started: me, Pam, Chris, and Christa.
We took some awesome fun pictures from the back of the waterfall without our flash to get just a silhouette. So fun!

Here is my family recreating a statue that was on the left of the photographer.
Here are the girls that were there at the time. Can you figure out who is who?
And here is the octo-man! Just kidding...its my father in law. Me, Christa, and Patricia helped him look more supernatural.
Friday we took Jennifer to the airport and then we drove to Idaho. It was snowing all over, and I thought it was just beautiful!! But only because I don't live in it...We went to visit Jen and Tyler and their 3 boys. Emery got to meet Maxwell who is 1 month older than her. They liked each other.

The next morning was Taylor's baptism. It was a stake baptism and there was like 10 children! I think the chapel was fuller than usual sundays. OK, maybe that's an exxaggeration for my ward, but it was pretty full. The baptism was beautiful of course! Then there was the drive home, which was slightly more comfortable but still long. It was fun, but im happy to be home!

Our trip to Utah and Idaho

So we went to Utah to pickup Christa from her mission and I was so excited! I had been dreaming about Christa for days! We drove Monday and it was OK. I was in the back with Emery and Christopher. My ears have been plugged for weeks so I really could not hear any of the conversations, but Emery did well in the car. I feel bad because I think she was really bored, but she was fine other than that. It was me, Em, Christopher, Pam, Heather, Patricia, and Jennifer. A very full car. In fact, our stroller and Christopher's duffel bag went on the top of the car!

We got there late Monday and stayed at Christopher's Aunt Cheryl's house. On Tuesday we got up and watched the new Joseph Smith movie in the Legacy Theater, met Christa for lunch at the Lion House, then went on a tour by her on Temple Square. We then went back to relax and of course play some Sorry! Same color always wins.... SORRY!

Wednesday was tour day. We picked up Christa in the morning and went to a temple session in the SL temple. Then we went to Tucano's for lunch. It is the best lunch place ever. If you haven't heard of it...it is a brazilian bbq place. Its all you can eat. And they keep bringing you meat on super large skewers, as well as some vegetables, and some grilled pineapple. It's to die for!
Then we went on so many tours I can't even remember!! Umm, the Beehive House and the Relief Society building and the 26th story to check out the valley.....And Amber came to visit and meet Emery, which was awesome.

This is me and Sister Christa Cobabe, who I missed so much, in front of the SLC temple.

This is the family on the 26th story checking out the awesome view of the whole valley.

This is me and my lover in the Lion House for lunch, they had amazing broccoli chicken. And really good rolls.

This is all of us in front of the temple. Its so beautiful!

But my baby is crying so I will have to write a new blog later about the rest of the week!

4 month check up

Emery had her 4 month checkup last Tuesday...a little early since yesterday was actually her 4 month birthday, but anyways...

She was then 17 pounds 4 ounces, 99 percentile. My little monster. And as if to prove me right by that nickname, she now communicates by growling. haha. It's so cute! Especially if she is chewing on her hands or trying to get mine, or grabbing my hair or something. She is also 25.75"

Right now I am sitting on the couch with the laptop on the arm of the couch and she is sitting on my hip, slouched, sleeping. I swear she is the most adorable thing ever. Although I would appreciate it if she slept a little better.

We started giving her solids. We had started with cereal already, and at her appointment the doctor said I could start giving her vegetables and then fruits. So she has now had squash and carrots, and next is green beans. This is her one of the first times she had rice cereal.
She has lost soo much hair! It makes me sad to see her balding, but it is now coming back in and that makes me happy. I like to see her new hair. She still has a little on the crown of her head and a little mullet like thing in the back but Christopher doesn't want me to cut it.

Ladybug

Emery likes to fall asleep holding things. Here, I had just bought her this new toy: a ladybug. And then I went to Wal-Mart and she was playing with and then fell asleep. Maybe its just me, but I think my daughter is adorrrrrable!

Jungle Jumper

We bought a jumper for her. The same one Maddox has, I thought it was so cute. It was pretty much the last one so we got it just in time. She is just now starting to actually jump in it or turn to play with different toys. But, mostly she is just real content in it.

COOKIE LEE

My amazing little sister is doing a fundraiser for EFY this summer. She has about 2 weeks to sell Cookie Lee jewelry, and is hoping to sell enough to pay for it altogether. She doesn't work and I want to help out mostly because I would like to help out my parents. My mom worked at Mervyns so she just lost her job..and although my dad makes the main money in the household, things have been tight lately...

So Sammie, my sister, gave my a Cookie Lee catalog, and order forms. I know all you girls out there reading this love jewelry!! Please look through because if you are going to buy jewelry, it might as well go to a good cause...such as a church camp for a 16 year old girl!

I have it at my place. I will be in UT this week but I will be back Sunday. If you are interested, just let me know by calling or even commenting this blog. I will come to you if needed not this week, but next. The orders need to be in by the 14th, Valentines Day. They should get here by the 21st.

Please help her out! I'm posting her picture to soften your hearts!

Feeling slightly better

Christopher got sick last week and a day or two later me and Em were feeling it too. Well, I was feeling it and I could tell Em was sick. Yesterday was the worst. She hasn't been sleeping so I havent been sleeping. And Monday night and Tuesday morning there was so much pressure and I was going nuts. Yesterday my mom came to help me. She watched Emery for a while so I could take a nap without worrying about her...she made me soup for lunch and she did the dishes =]

Anyways, last night it was hard to get her to sleep after 10 but when she eventually fell asleep she slept until 3. Then after eating she was up for about 1/2 hour, but then she slept until 8:30. And I feel much better. Although I kind of wish I could take a nighttime cold pill or some theraflu or something.

I feel so bad that her nose is so congested. But a question for other moms....when I have been using the aspirator, her mucus has been bloody. Is that normal? Or bad? Or okay?

Emery can roll over

Last Friday, umm..the 19th? Emery almost rolled over and it was out of the blue but awesome. Then on Wednesday this week the 14th, Christopher and I were having dinner at Erick and Amelia's and I said "Emery, now would be a great time to roll over." [or something along those lines...i dont remember exactly what i said]

And she did! So I put her back on her tummy and said [something like] "Okay...do it again!" And she did! It was only twice but it was cool. Yesterday I went to my parents and she hasnt done it again since then, but atleast Christopher, Erick and Amelia can back me up!

My daughter is a genius..and she will be 3 months tomorrow. Eeek...isnt that amazing? Pretty soon she'll be getting married...

My sitter

Emery has learned to sit on her own. She sometimes lasts a while, but usually not. And i'm always there just in case. I realized she could one day while she was sitting on my lap. She does better when she's on my lap, I think because its not a flat surface.
She leans forward so much...but she'll learn. Sometimes she likes sitting on her own but usually she is only content for a few moments before she wants to be adjusted. I'm sure its not so comfy to sit on her own when your that far forward...
And she almost rolled over the other day. Friday I think it was. Totally out of the blue, but not quite yet...soon im sure.

My Big Girl

We moved Emery into her own room. The first night went relatively well for her, not so much for Christopher and I. It was weird...not having her in there with us. And we were scared..although we shouldn't be at our location. The second nigh (last night) didn't go quite as well. But Em hasnt been feeling well and she just had a rough night. I'm sure she still would have been difficult if she was in our room with us.

So today I went to visit Mamo (my mom) for some company and support during the day, and I got to take an hour and a half nap in my mom's waterbed while she watched Em. It was nice.

PS: Right now Christopher is holding Emery. She just fell asleep and sometimes she sleeps with her eyes slightly open. The funny thing is that even when she is sleeping, if you smile she will respond with a smile of her own. How cute is that? I love my booger....

I'm going nuts at home all the time. So if anyone wants to hangout or needs some company during the day, just give me a call.

15 pounder!

So I took Emery to the pediatrician yesterday but I don't really like her doctor anymore. I have a mother's intuition and I know that she is teething. But the doctor said no because shes so young and because "babies get their bottom teeth first." It was annoying because she wouldnt even feel so only glanced and said "Nope."

But she weighs 14 lbs. 14 oz. my big ol baby.

I tried to give her cereal last night. First of all, its so runny! Their was no consistency at all how it said to mix it. She wasn't loving it, but she was crying for a while after so I think she was in pain. I gave her maybe 4 spoonfuls and i'll keep on trying because I know shes ready to eat too.

Christopher stayed hime from work today because he has a dentist appointment at 2:00. It is so nice having him here to help me with her and to keep me company!

Poor Em

I think she's teething. I had already thought so and lately she's been real fussy. Worst at night...I was up almost every hour last night and she has been so upset! I was feeling her gums last night and I think she is getting her top teeth. We'll see. I called the doctor and I'm taking her in this morning in about an hour. I'll let you all know.

PS Here are some Christmas pictures of Em since i never posted any!

My Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday. I am no longer a teen...I turned 20! My mom came to babysit Em and Christopher and I went to dinner at Chili's and walked at the outlets for a bit. It was nice. I didn't get as anxious as I thought I would, but it was only 2 hours.
My husband got me beautiful flowers and...the most amazing picture of the sacramento temple. It is panaramic and looks antique, and looks great above our couch! It was hanging when we got home, because Erick hung it. Feels more like home.....

Christmas Party

Saturday was the Ward Christmas Party. I had lots of fun. But it was extremely tiring because my family is on the committee so we were working all day. The quiche was so good!! Mmm breakfast for dinner....
We were asked to portray Mary, Joseph and Jesus in the live nativity. I enjoyed myself. Met some very wise men ;) Emery did so well. She was awake for a little while but eventually fell asleep in the manger. The bishop said that a lady asked him why we decided to use a plastic baby? That's how good she did...

They had a vintage sleigh at the building to take pictures. So we did. I love my husband and my little angel.

Our Christmas Tree

We got a christmas tree! We didn't get one last year so i was extremely excited. It smells so good!

Legwarmers

I bought legwarmers for Emery. Aren't they adorable? Still a bit big, but that means they will fit longer!

Emery's Blessing

Sunday was Emery's baby blessing. It was great to have family come to church and get together afterwards. It was beautiful. Christopher was so nervous. Her grandma bought her a beautiful blessing dress that looked gorgeous on her, as well as a blanket and some shoes. The shoes were adorable, and she really was wearing them under the dress!

The men who helped bless my little baby was Christopher, Papa, Papu, Jeff, Greg, Matt, and Erick.
Here is our little family and our blessed daughter. I am so proud of our little family and I was so happy this day.

Here is Emery with Auntie Sammi, my younger sister.

I can't help but love MY little blessing...

Recalled

Our crib got recalled. How frusturating is that....and i'll tell you why.

In February, when we found out that I was pregnant we thought.."Let's buy a crib right now. I know its early, but let's buy it to make it easier on us and while we have the money."
key word: easier

And everyone kept asking if i needed anything big for the baby, and we didn't. Now we do. We have to find a new crib. And it's not any easier.

How did I have such big baby?

I took Emery to the doctor's today...she hasn't been in 5 weeks, since she was only 9 days old. She now weighs 12 pounds 14 ounces. That isthe 99 percentile for her age! I think it's amazing that such a big girl came from me. Not that she was that big born...but still. I know she's big but shes also proportionate so the doctor isnt worried at all. I can put her in 3-6 month clothes now!

She got some vaccines today. In both thighs...poor thing. She barely ever cries so it was hard for me to see her crying and know that feeding her wouldnt make it go away. But I knew she was kind of hungry so I nursed her anyway, and she fell asleep. The nurse gave me some tylenol for her, so hopefully she wont be too fussy in the next few days.

Her cousin Ethan has had a hard time gaining weight. He was born 7 lbs 4 oz and after a month was only 7 lbs 5 oz. But today he is well over 8 pounds, and so good news for him as well.

Speaking of all this baby news, Amelia had her baby last night! A big baby too...8 lbs 10 oz. Mason Scott...I went to visit her but didn't get to see him because he wasn't in the room. I'll go visit again later today but I've heard he is beautiful and I definately believe that. Also, he has a normal 10 fingers and 10 toes...we really thought he'd be webbed but he lucked out. =]
