Party at Crystals

Well...at Crystal's parents house. We got there kind of late, but there was LOTS of yummy food and we played Scattergories...I love games. By the way, Christopher did Emery's hair for Halloween. In a faux hawk. There are no good pictures of it, but you can kind of see it. Erick and Amelia cracked me up. They went as white trash. Shes very pregnant so it was funny with her belly hanging out.
Christopher and I didn't dress up. I really wanted to. But I had not much time, no money, and no realy cooperation from Christopher either. And i'm one of those people that likes to match. I like costumes that go together. Next year we are going to be the Flinstones with little Pebbles. And hopefully Erick and Amelia will be the Rubbles and Mason can be Bam Bam!

Party at Grandma's

The first party we went to was at Grandma Cobabes. It was fun to see all the little kids dressed up. Of course, everyone wanted to hold my little pumpkin. [halloween reference =)]

These cousins going clockwise from top left are Rebecca, Macey, Samantha, and Mattie.
Victoria said its the first baby she held that doesn't cry.

All the girls eating their candy after trick or treating...watching a movie. Kit Kittridge I think?
And of course, Grandma. It's hard to get her to let go of Emery even when other people haven't ever seen her. =]

Hallow-onesie!

We recieved two shower gifts that were Halloween onsies, newborn size. First, she barely fit in newborn the day she was born. And second, well, really, there's just that. So I let her hang out all day in the candy corn one from the Ellis and took pictures. She wore the other one to the parties. Isn't she so cute?
I don't know what shes doing. I think shes crying, but her face is so adorable, and shes so cute stretching out like that. Even though the onesie is a bit small. I couldnt let it go to waste.

I don't know how I managed to get this shot, but I'm glad I did. She really loves me, and that makes me happy. =]

This is her zoolander face. With her pinky like that and her face turned, I definately feel like she's posing. Maybe she'll be a model? Who knows...

Erick and Amelia's Baby Shower

Amelia is due with her baby boy Mason on December 5th. They had a co-ed baby shower, and it was fun that Christopher got to go with me. Emery got to meet lots of new people at the shower, and I even had time to play a game. We put here in a little pink hoodie, and it is so cute on her!

Emery's Professional Pictures

So yesterday we went to Babies R Us to get a few things we realized we needed. There was some kind of special thing going on and the photo people were offering to do a free 5x7 photo. We have no money but it was nice to get a free picture since we didnt have money to get them done at the hospital.

She was out cold when we got there and the woman was getting ready to do a sleeping picture, and then Em woke up hungry so I had to feed her there. Then she was awake for a different picture. So we managed a normal photo and then she feel asleep again so we did do some sleeping ones. We only got the one free photo, but it turns out that they put all the pictures from the sitting online, so we still got the same three that we really liked. She is adorable and the lips in one of the pictures cracks me up.

Uncle Bug

The first uncle on Daddy's side to meet Emery was Brenton. We went to lunch at Chipotle and it was nice to get out. We also went to run errands at Babies R Us. Which reminds me, I think ALL shopping carts should be compatible with car seats so they can clip in the front. Not even the carts at the baby store are...thats just silly. And rather annoying!

Bathing at Home

OK, today was funny. Emery has this habit of going to the bathroom, whatever it may be WHILE we are changing her diaper. And, it was unexpected of our baby girl so we weren't being so careful where we change her. Today, daddy changed her on our bed, and she made one heck of a mess. It's not so funny when it happens to me, but I happened to think this incident was especially hilarious. She's sneaky!

Since she was a mess, we decided it was a good time to give her a bath. She wasn't a huge fan.

Although she looks quite content here.
Not so much here. Funny that she's crying when we take her out. That's when she should stop crying. Ideally.

PS: When she gets hungry, she tries to nurse on whatever she can get her hands on, or her mouth on. Last night, Amelia and Erick came to visit with Amber and Matt and Maddox. Amber was holding Em when she decided she was hungry. So here is Emery trying to eat Amber's chin.

EMC squared

My big sister was induced the day before me and had Ethan Michael Cranor on the 16th. And EMery ryan Cobabe was of course born on the 17th. Jennifer, my sister, tried to convince me to give her a middle name that started with M but I still think that they can both be considered EMCs. Here are some pictures of her meeting her new cousin.

She is ginormous next to him. They are only one day apart and he is older. Of course, he was two weeks early and she was 1 week late, but still. He was 7 lbs 4 oz, and she was 9 lbs 8 oz.

It was funny because he was really upset at being put down. He was having a fit, and Em was sleeping soundly through it. She's a really good sleeper.
I love Ethans face in this. It's like hes playing peek a boo with the camera.

Anxiety

I am so ready for her tomorrow. In ten hours I will be induced and hopefully about seven hours after that, she will be here. I don't mind a little longer, but I am so anxious. I don't know if I will be able to sleep. It's like Christmas Eve. Here's the last pictures of my pregnant belly. 41 weeks and GINORMOUS. (sp?) And some pictures of her room....

Wish me luck!

Induction

So, I went to see my doctor yesterday (Tuesday) and she scheduled me for an induction. She has to wait until im 41 weeks which is tomorrow. But, she is working in Labor and Delivery on Friday so we scheduled it for then. So long as I havent had the baby yet, I will go in on Friday at 10:30 and get pitocin.

It's funny that I'm more nervous now. Even before I was expecting her everyday, but now I know for sure she will be here by Friday night and that's nerve wrecking. I am also extremely excited.

Not that I will sleep well with her here but only two more nights of sleeping with a huge belly and having to push so hard to switch sides. I can't wait to meet Em!

Baby News

Well, here I am one day past my due date and still no baby. It's frusturating since I've been asking her to come out for about two weeks now. I was having contractions early Monday morning and went to the hospital. I was 3cm at 4am and still 3cm at 8am so I went home. They gave me vistaril to help me sleep. My contractions had been 2-3 minutes apart, but when I woke from sleeping they pretty much went away.

Since then, they kind of come and go. Sometimes they are painless and sometimes they make my back hurt really bad [I feel most of the pain in my back]. Today I went to a doctor's appointment but had to see someone other than my normal doctor. She said my baby definately looks ready to come out. She stripped my membranes, which was pretty painful and now the cramps are hurting pretty bad. She also said she would be suprised if I didnt go into labor this weekend. My mother said that the one time she had hers stripped she went into labor about 7hours afterwards. So Christopher and I are hoping for tonight...although we have been hoping for "tonight" for several nights now.

We're so ready for her...I hope she understands that. And I hope the discomfort of stripped membranes is actually worth something. Ironically, I've been sitting at home waiting for labor for a whole week now. Tomorrow is actually a day where I have plans. Obviously I would rather have a daughter tomorrow, but I will be sad to miss my sister's baby shower and my brother's birthday dinner.

Hopefully my next post will be about her birth and not about my frusturation! After she is born, I am going to teach her that it is honorable to be EARLY to EVERYTHING!
